Myst sent for one of the young squires to be sent
to her room. She had to get a message to Mikel in
Mindril. But she knew she couldn't go herself. Moments
later a knock on her chamber door sounded and the young
lad entered. "Yes, M'Lady, what can I do for you?" he
said as he came in. Myst looked at the boy "I need you
to go to the city of Mindril with an urgent message.
Take it directly to Lord Mikel's home. Tell the guards
at the gates where your coming from and who the
message is for and who it's from. They will take you
directly to Lord Mikel's house. Tell Lord Mikel that I
have arrived safely here at the Keep. Then tell him
the Orcs have sieged Rivervale and that the Keep will
attack to aid the city. But we need help. Tell him to
send 2 Battalions of Dwarf soldiers from the High
Sword mountains if he can as soon as possible." The boy
nods. "Now, go down to the kitchen and have Cook
prepare some food and water for your journey. Tell him I
sent you. And please, be carefull, it will not be an
easy journey." The boy nods again and bows then leaves
her room.
She goes to the window and looks
out. She thinks of Mikel and Mindril and her home on
the coast. She wants to go back to them soon. But the
Orcs have to be stopped first. She sighs heavily then
looks at the sun setting. Even though she has embraced
her roots and feels the Amazon blood racing through
her, she still can feel the love she has for her
friends. And the love she feels for Mikel as well. A love
that is so different than any other she ever felt. To
love a man, not as a friend, but more. She sees this
love in Sabre and Soul. But, she never thought it
possible for her. She still thinks of men as mere slaves
and breeding stock. But with Mikel, it is different.
She looks out at the sun again shaking her head. How
could she feel this way about a Man. The Gods would
never approve. She looks back on the bed at her weapons
and equipment. Everything ready for the upcoming
battle. She lets her mind concentrate on that and her
eyes begin to glow again and her blood begins to flow
strong. She now waits for the word from Soul.
