As Myst nears the Keep she hears the warning bell
ringing. She kicks Champ into a full gallop and then
quickly arrives at the outside gate to the keep.. the
gate is closed.
She yells up to the guard. "Open
the gate. It's me..Mystique!!"
The guard looks
down "Yes M'Lady right away" he turns and yells "OPEN
THE GATE FOR THE AMAZON
MYSTIQUE.....QUICKLY!!!!"
As the gate opens Myst rides in quickly...makes it
to the second gate just as it opens and she and
Champ stop just inside the maid couryard. She jumps
down and heads to the Captain of the Guard.
"Cpt.
Blackfist, what is happening? Why was the bell
sounded?"
Morgan Blackfist looks to Mystique, "Darien just arrived
with news from Thelindira. It is under attack from the
lands of the Mageaocracy. And the Orcs have attacked
Rivervale. The kingdom is under seige. Lord and Lady
MacKermack should be arriving soon with the new Master. We
are going to assemble the Red Lions and help
Rivervale."
Myst looks at the Captain and nods. "I
too will help. I will get ready." She turns and hands
one of the grooms Champs reins and tells him to
remove his tack and rub him down. Walk him and feed him.
She needs him rested and ready when the time comes.
She enters the main house and makes her way up to her
guest quarters. She removes her weapons and lays them
on the bed. She takes her armour and clothes off and
prepares a bath. She cleans all the mudd and muck off from
the swamp.
Once she has finished bathing she
dresses into a simple tunic and heads down to the
kitchen. She tells the cook, Elimina, to prepare dinner
for when Soul and Sabre and the baby arrive. They
will no doubt be hungry from their trip and Soul will
need to have a full stomach and a clear head to get
ready to move on Rivervale. Elimina nods and begins to
get things for dinner.
Myst leaves the
kitchen and heads up to the nursemaid. Has her prepare
for the baby's arrival. Moves on to the hand maidens
and tells them to lay out clothes for Sabre and
prepare a bath for her and the baby.
Hoping she
hasn't forgotten anything, she heads back to her room
and finishes getting herself ready.
She now
begins to understand what that ghost of Aran's was
trying to say.
Her warrior blood begins to flow
strong.
