After about an hour of roaming the woods Myst
turns Champ around and heads back to the bordello. She
leaves Champ in the wood line and carefully sneaks up to
the outside wall where she feels the room is located
that she heard the baby cry. She looks along the wall
and finds several boards are loose. She pulls on one
of them slightly and looks inside. She sees a woman
asleep on a bed with her back turned. Suddenly she sees
a small foot kick up from behind the woman. Myst
pulls a little harder on the board to get a better
look. The woman moves slightly then sits up lifting the
child. As she turns and swings her legs off the edge of
the bed Myst sees the woman's face.
Myst's
eyes fill with shock. Suddenly a rage wells within
her. It was Sabre. Sabre was the woman brought here by
the bandits. And Colin is with her. But where is
Soul? She didn't see Soul. She taps gently on the wall
trying to get Sabre's attention. Sabre looks up at the
tapping sound and looks over to the wall."Sabre, Sabre,
it's me, Mystique, come here quickly." Sabre, looking
very scarred but relieved moves over to the spot where
Myst pulled the board open. Myst looks at
Sabre,"Sabre, what happened? How did you get here? Where is
Soul?....wait..don't answer, don't make any noise, just nod your
head." Sabre looks at her and nods with tears streaming
down her face. Whispering,"Do you know where Soul is?"
Sabre shakes her head no. "Have they.....have you?"
Sabre shakes her head again but the look in her eyes's
lets Myst know that she will be "put to work" soon. "I
can't pull the boards off without making too much
noise. And trying that now could bring alot of
unwelcomed visitors. I will go back to the Keep and get
help. And I will try and find Soul. These bastards will
pay for what they have done to you and the little
one."
Myst looks carefully at the space between
the boards. To small to get Sabre out, but big enough
to get Colin through. "Sabre, I could get Colin
through and get him back to the Keep safely. But since
they haven't hurt him and let him stay with you tells
me you may have a better chance of "Not working" if
he stays with you. But, the choice is yours. I don't
know what they told you, so you decide if I should
take him or leave him with you." Sabre nods and looks
at Colin. Tears still flowing down her cheeks.
Trying hard not to make any sound to alert anyone.
Myst knows the decision will be a hard one for Sabre
to make, so she sits and waits for as long as it
takes.
